Anthony Cochrane Dies in Des Moines

Anthony (Tony) Cochrane, 72 years old, died Monday at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, following an illness of three years.

Older citizens of Stuart will remember Mr. Cochrane as a former Stuart resident, where he managed the creamery, later conducted a Standard service station. He later obtained a position as district deputy for the Modern Woodmen in Des Moines, where he had lived for twenty-five years.

Mr. Cochrane was born in Scotland and came to this country in 1891. He was an elder at Union Park Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Kittie, and a brother and sister in Scotland.

Funeral services were held in Des Moines at 10:30 a.m. from Hamilton’s funeral home, conducted by the pastor of the Union Park Church of Christ, Rev. H. L. Kinzee. Burial was in the Penn Center cemetery Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
