Lulu Thrailkill Faust, daughter of Chester (John) and Caroline Amanda Thrailkill, was born May 21, 1903 on the Holman place between Dexter and Earlham. She passed away April 18 at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

She was a lifelong resident of the Dexter-Earlham vicinity. She taught school four years in the Penn and Jackson Township schools. She was baptized in the Dexter Presbyterian Church. On June 16, 1926 she was united in marriage to Oscar Faust ad since that time they have always resided in the Dexter-Stuart area.

To this union were born 10 children. Her life was active and useful, always willing to help others.

The last 17 years she had multiple sclerosis and a lung disease and for the last 7 years was confined to a wheelchair. In spite of these afflictions, she did not complain and was a source of cheerfulness to those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Oscar, and 10 children, all of whom were with her the last week of her life. The children are Marjorie Stumbo, Des Moines; Eugene of Menlo; Melvin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Cecil of Pisgah; Francis of Dexter, Jack of Pisgah, Rosalie, Janet and Karen of Des Moines; and James of Stuart. Also 19 grandchildren, 6 brothers, 5 sisters and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 20 from the Fairview church. Interment was in the cemetery in Dexter.
