CLARENCE FRANKLIN COULTER DIED AT EARLHAM MANOR CARE CENTER FEBRUARY 7, 1986

Clarence Franklin Coulter, was born to Franklin Reece and Dora R. Curts Coulter July 4, 1902 on the Coulter family farm in the Bear Creek Community. He passed away February 7, 1986 at Earlham Manor Care Center.

Clarence attended country schools in Union Township and graduated from Redfield High School in 1922. On February 20, 1924, he was united in marriage to Orpha Myrle Hadley. Four children blessed their marriage. Clarence and Myrle spent their life together farming, first in the Linden Community for seven years and then in the Bear Creek Community.

Clarence attended the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church as a child and later joined the Bear Creek Friends Church. He was active in church and community affairs.

Clarence suffered a severe stroke in August 1948, losing most of his ability for speech but had a wonderful determination to carry on a meaningful life. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrle, his parents, two brothers Reece Marvin and Glen Charles and one sister Inez Berneice Coulter.

Survivors include two sons, Eldon and Marvin of rural Earlham, two daughters, Martha Mendenhall of rural Earlham and Eloise Maxson of Redfield and one sister Louise Pearson of LaGrange Park, Illinois, five grandchildren, Eldonna, Juanita and Lance Coulter, Linda Adkins and Karen Mendenhall and one great grandson Benjamin Adkins.

Funeral services were held this week with Pastor Wayne Anson officiating. Berneita Patience was organist and soloist. Pallbearers were Franklin Coulter, Lyle Hadley, Jon Coulter, James Coulter, Andrew Coulter and Edward Love. Interment was in Bear Creek Cemetery rural Earlham.
