MORTUARY - Mary Allgeyer

Mary, daughter of Charles and Frances Allgeyer, was born in Mansfield, Ohio, Sept. 13, 1852 and departed this life Feb. 16, 1917. She removed, with the family from Ohio to Illinois in childhood, receiving her early education there.

Coming with the family to Iowa in 1867, the present home was established and after the death of the parents, she, with her only sister, Nora, and brother, Edward, have maintained the home known for its generous hospitality to a wide circle of friends throughout the country.

Mollie, as she was best known to her nearer friends, never lost interest in her surroundings and in the welfare and comfort of those about her and even though her last days were filled with suffering too intense for words, she bore it with a patience and fortitude seldom found, and was conscious of all about her, almost to the last. She was a loving sister and a true and thoughtful friend and leaves to mourn her loss one sister and five brothers and a circle of friends limited only by her acquaintance. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. White. Interment at Stringtown cemetery.
