Conduct Last Rites For Mrs. Murphy, 73

Funeral services were held last Thursday in Greenfield for Miss Josephine Murphy, 73, a former Earlham resident. Rev. M. R. Talley conducted the services and burial was made in Harrison township in Adair county.

Miss Murphy was the daughter of R. T. and Martha Murphy, and was born Dec. 1, 1889 (sic) in Adair county. Her girlhood days and most of her life were spent in the vicinity of her birth. She was a resident of Earlham for about eight years.

Surviving are two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Jane Sackett of Washington, Kan.; Mrs. Elsie Ehlers of Council Bluffs: Alex Murphy of Ontario, Calif.; R. E. Murphy of Van meter and S. D. Murphy of Greenfield.

Transcriber's note: This obituary deviates considerably from her Iowa Death Certificate which gives her date of birth as December 2, 1869 (confirming her age of 73) and burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery.
