Obituaries – Andrew L. Peterson

Andrew Leroy Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, was born February 6, 1892, in Shelby county, Iowa, and died January 10, 1942.

In 1894 his parents moved to Adair county where he grew to manhood in the vicinity of Adair. Later, the family moved to Madison county and there he was united in marriage June 28, 1914 to Marie Klingman.

To this union were born four children, Galyn Frank of Oelwein, Andrew Merle of Stockton, Ill., Opal Buena of Des Moines and Eugene Lloyd, stationed with the Naval Air Service in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was rural mail carrier in the Earlham vicinity but retired because of ill health. He engaged in farming and carpenter work up to the time of his death.

Besides his children and their mother, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson, of Adair, three brothers, Hans Peterson of Nevada, Albert of Winterset and Clarence of Clarinda; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Oaks of Adair, Mrs. Alma Wassgren of Nevada, Mrs. Evelyn Matison of California and Mrs. Emaline Cook of Maxwell, Iowa.
