Former Resident Is Dead At Age 86

Charles M. Randall, 86, pioneer printer and newspaperman, died Saturday afternoon at the Masonic sanitarium at Bettendorf, Ia. He learned the printers trade at Winterset and one time was typesetter for the Des Moines Register.

He moved to Rockwell City in 1889 where he established a printing shop. He worked at that business until his retirement about five years ago.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Rockwell City. A daughter and a son survive

Charles M. Randall, 86, former resident of Rockwell City, Ia. died at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Masonic sanitarium in Bettendorf after a brief illness.

He was born in Bath county, Kentucky, May 15, 1854 and was a printer by trade.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. N. B. Wimsett, Burkett, Calif., and a son, Wilbur of Minnesota.

The body was removed to the Hill & Frederick’s funeral home and will be sent to the Clark funeral home at Rockwell City today. Services will be held there Monday or Tuesday.
