Ben W. Bass

CALDWELL - Services for Ben W. Bass, 90, Mountain View, Calif., who died there Sunday, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Dakan Chapel in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Canyon Hill.

Born Dec. 15, 1877, in Winterset, Iowa, he moved to Monument, Ore., when a young man and married Annie Long there on June 2, 1902. In 1913, they moved to Yoncall, Ore., where he farmed until 1919, when they came to Caldwell. She died Oct. 20, 1933.

He married Isabel Gregory on April 7, 1935, at Caldwell. They lived on a farm northwest of Caldwell until 1943, when they moved into Caldwell. She died March 31, 1962, in Caldwell. Since then, he had lived with his daughters in Mountain View, Calif. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Jennings and Mrs. Lucille Mitchell, both of Mountain View; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Lillie Shipley of Lodi, Calif. and Mrs. Ethel Abbott of Boise; five grandchildren, including Ben W. Jennings of Boise, and 13 great-grandchildren.
