Francis Decatur Farris

Francis Decatur Farris was born to Charles and Mary Jane Farris on November 25, 1867 at Winterset Iowa. He married Sara Elizabeth Jones November 6 1895. To this union were born three children.

He became a member of the Presbyterian church in 1907. In 1926 he transferred his membership to the Ansley Baptist church. He was a member of Gladstone Lodge No 176 A. F. & a. M.

He passed away at Loup City at 6:30 P.M. November 6, 1939 at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 11 days. Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

Left to mourn his passing are: his wife, his son, Ross Farris, of Hartington, Nebraska; two daughters, Zola Ambrose of Bozeman, Montana, Grace Stahl of Ansley Nebraska, four grand children, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from the Ansley Baptist Church on Thursday, November 9th at 2:30 P.M. and burial was made in the Mason City cemetery.

Pall bearers were: Irwin Doane, Chester Loy, John Eloe, John Springman, Gasfield Eggleston and Ern Pester.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were: Ross Farris, Mr. and Mrs. G. E Doane of Hartington Neebraska and Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Ambrose of Bozeman, Montana.
