Page 5, Column 3RETIRED BAKER DIES HERE MONDAY
James T. Hoare, 86 years of age, retired Des Moines baker, died here Monday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. E. Douglas with whom he had made his home the past few years. He had been ill with bronchial trouble about two weeks.
Mr. Hoare had been a resident of Iowa over 70 years, coming here from New York state he settled in Des Moines. He was a soloist in a Des Moines church many years and took an active part in choir work. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 in the Ramsey-Richards funeral home. Burial was in the Woodland cemetery in Des Moines.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Douglas of Winterset, another daughter, Mrs. Homer Clark of Craig, Colorado; two sons, Arthur of Chicago, Ill., and Robert of Des Moines.

James T. Hoare, son of James H. and Sophia Hoare, was born in New York state, February 14, 1853 and died January 9, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. E. Douglas in Winterset.
At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to Des Moines, where he was a resident for 70 years. At the death of his wife he came to Winterset to live with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Douglas.
He joined the Baptist church in his early boyhood years, later changing his membership to the Central Church of Christ in Des Moines, being a member there for 40 years. He took much interest in Sunday school and church work and music.
On December 7, 1876 he was married to Roxanna Perkins at Des Moines. To this union were born four children, all of whom survived their father. They are: Arthur Travis Hoare of Chicago; Mrs. Bertha Douglas of Winterset; Mrs. Agnes Clark of Craig, Colorado, and Robert Hoare of Des Moines. In addition to the four children, he is survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in November, 1935.
Funeral services were held at the Ramsey – Richards funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 1:30 p.m. in charge of the Rev. J. H. Cochrane, Jr., pastor of the Baptist Church. Burial was made in the Woodland cemetery in Des Moines.
