W. J. Buchanan of Des Moines, where he had been a resident for 47 years, died at his home last Friday. Funeral services were held at the Hamilton funeral home last Monday afternoon. Mr. Buchanan was a native of South Township.
He is survived by his widow, two daughters: Mrs. P. E. Wilson and Mrs. F. A. Bomer; a son, A. H. Buchanan and a brother, A. H. Buchanan, all of Des Moines. Mr. Buchanan often visited relatives and friends here, especially Old Settlers.
________________________Transcriber's note: Full name taken from his Iowa Death Certificate. The claim that he was a "native of South Township" is not supported by census records or his Iowa Death Certificate which all say he was born in Missouri.
