MICHAEL MELROY DIES IN KANSAS

Michael Melroy, 70 years of age, died July 15, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Keifer in Ottawa, Kansas, following an illness of two years duration.

Mr. Melroy, the son of Margaret and Thomas Melroy, deceased, of near Bevington, was born April 27, 1868 on a farm 3 miles northwest of Bevington. In early manhood he was united in marriage with Mary Ann Hall, daughter of Ann and Michael Hall of Warren county. To this union were born twelve children, one son Joseph having died in infancy.

He is survived by his six daughters, Mrs. Ed Sheehey of Prole, Mrs. Harry Magnusson of Des Moines, Mrs. Alice Goff of Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Jack Boyer of Topeka, Kansas; Ellen Melroy of St. Louis, Missouri, and Mrs. Ben Keifer of Ottawa, Kansas; five sons, Charles of Des Moines, Edwin and James of St. Louis, John and Thomas of Ottawa. His wife preceded him in death four years ago.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa, at ten o’clock July 18, conducted by the Rev. W. F. Darling. Burial was made in the Mt. Calvary cemetery, Ottawa.
