County Briefs – Lee

William Roach was born in Henry county, Iowa, August 18, 1869. He passed Thursday, April 7, 1938, at his home west of Cummings, Iowa at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 21 days.

At the age of 18 he came to the home of his brother, John, where he made his home for two years. He then bought the adjoining farm where he lived until his death. He has been bedfast for several years. He married Ella Dooley and to this union, three children were born, one of which died when one year old.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, son Francis, at home, daughter Mrs. Clara Cross, Perry, Iowa; a brother, John Roach, Sr., Cummings, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Alsop, Fort Des Moines and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Norwalk Saturday at two o’clock p.m., with burial at Orilla cemetery.
