Cheryl René Klingaman, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Norwalk Nursing and Rehab while under the care of Every Step Hospice.

René was born November 15, 1951, in Leon, Iowa to Jack and Niada McFarland. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved her family and always put them first. She was an avid reader and liked reading stories to her grandchildren, making different voices for all the characters. René was a Willie Nelson fan and enjoyed dancing to 50s and 60s rock & roll music. She had a large teddy bear collection and enjoyed going antiquing in her free time.

She is survived by her children, Brandon Allen, Casey Allen, Hope Paxton (Paul), and Stormy Allen; grandchildren, Mallory, Jensen, Logan, Kody, Dakota, Rogue, Destiny, Tristin, Sway, Kemper, and Abel; siblings, Pamela Sato (David), Ricky McFarland, Becky McFarland, Geoff McFarland (Lisa); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

René was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Niada McFarland; and her siblings, Michael McFarland, Jerry McFarland, and Rodney “Gumby” McFarland.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at New Bridge Church, 1305 West Jefferson Street, Winterset, IA 50273, with a luncheon to follow.
