The People of Truro and vicinity were shocked Saturday when the news came of the death of Harry Glass of Newton. Mr. Glass was born and raised in this community and had spent most of his life here until he moved to Newton a few years ago where he has had employment.

Harry Glass Instantly Killed In Automobile Collision
Harry Glass, 42, world war veteran, was instantly killed Saturday afternoon about 3:30 at the west corporation limits of Newton at the entrance of Country Club Acres.
It is reported Glass drove his car on the highway without stopping and headed east toward Newton. At the same time, a car driven by John Wormley, also of Newton, came over the hill from the east crashing into Glass’s machine. As a result of the crushing injury to his chest and a hemorrhage of the lung, Mr. Glass died instantly.
Four others were injured although none seriously. John Wormley, the driver of the car, suffered bruises and a cut across the chin; Donald Harbour a fractured right arm and possible internal injuries. His sister, Marie Harbour, bruised and cut and Glennis Andreason suffered a wrenched back.
Mr. Glass was an employee of the Maytag company for the past thirteen years and had been Dept. 10 for the past five years.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Morgan funeral home at Newton.
He is survived by his wife and four children, harry Lee, 16, Katheryn, 15, Florence, 14 and Darlene, 12, besides other relatives.
