Mrs. Joe Harrell of Scott township, received word Saturday morning of the death of her brother, S. L. Spurgin of Caldwell, Idaho. Mr. Spurgin moved from this county many years ago.

Page 13, Column 8Sinclair Spurgin Dies at Caldwell
(Special to the Statesman) Caldwell – Sinclair L. Spurgin, 77, died Saturday morning at his home here. He had been a resident of Boise valley since 1910, coming here from Greeley, Colo., and was widely known throughout the valley. From 1911 to 1917 he operated the hospital in Caldwell.
He was born in Iowa, April 5, 1858. When he grew to young manhood he settled in Nebraska and later moved to Colorado.
After the death of his wife, he moved to a ranch in the Black Canyon community, but returned to Caldwell to make his home in 1932.
The body is at Peckham’s. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Baptist church, with the Rev. L. G. Fraser officiating. Interment will be an Canyon Hill cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Baab, of Ault, Colo.; a son, Glenn H. Spurgion book Caldwell; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Harrell, of Peru, Ia., And a granddaughter, Mrs. Margaret Thompson of Murphy.
