Patricia Siglin

Patricia Kae (Daugherty) Siglin, 90, of Perry, IA passed away peacefully at the Dallas County Hospital, Perry, IA. on December 1, 2022 from congestive heart failure. Private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn.

Pat was born on December 10, 1931, the daughter of Richard and Opal (Bever) Daugherty in rural Earlham, IA. Growing up, her parents farmed in the Earlham, Perry, and Woodward, IA areas. She graduated from Woodward High school in 1949. On December 31, 1949, she married the neighbor boy, Robert (Bob) D. Siglin at her parent’s farm home near Woodward, IA. Pat and Bob farmed their entire married lives, which included 2 years in rural Earlham before moving back to rural Woodward. In 1967, they purchased a farm north of Minburn and continued their farming operation until retiring in 1988. In retirement, Pat and Bob enjoyed wintering in Florida and Arizona, and in 1997 became fulltime residents of Queen Valley, AZ. where they made many longtime friends. In 2011, they decided it was time to be closer to family and returned to Perry.

Most of her life, Pat had a love for horses, dogs, and farm animals. Pat was a ‘tom-boy’ growing up and that trait benefited her the rest of her life, as she would tell you that she could run the farm equipment as well as Bob.

Survivors include daughters, Susan (John) Andrews of Perry, Sheryl Lynn Weiser (David) of Minburn, and one son, Richard (Terri) Siglin of Fairfield Bay, AR. Grandchildren include: Trent (Jenn) Andrews of Dawson, Lindsay (Brad) Waldron of Ottawa, IL, Tony (Crystal) Andrews of Perry, Kevin Weiser of Ankeny, Janae (Ryan) Hepler of Clive, Lila (Andy) Modlin of Bouton, Jesse Siglin of Perry, Colton Siglin of Perry, Crista Siglin, residing in Germany, Rebecca Siglin of Des Moines, and Hannah Siglin of Seattle, WA; step grandchildren, Tyler Bovee, Jordan Bovee both of Des Moines, and Morganne Bovee of Little Rock, AR., and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Pat in death were her parents, husband, Bob on March 31, 2018; one son, Larry Siglin in April of 2014; four younger brothers: Rex, Jack, Ted, and Terry.

Memorials may be directed to: Minburn Legion Auxiliary #99 or the Washington Township School Foundation in Pat’s name. They may be sent to Murdock Funeral Home, Perry, IA.
