July 4, 1946 - December 23, 2017

Peggy Stover, 71, passed away on December 23, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in West Des Moines. A visitation will be from 6 to 8pm, Wednesday, December 27 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Funeral services will be at 10am, Thursday, December 28 at the funeral home with burial following at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Peggy Deloris (Christensen) Stover was born on July 4th, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Peg graduated form Nevada High School in 1964. Following graduation Peg moved to Des Moines to attend cosmetology school. Peg met Don during this time and they were married July 15, 1966.

Together, they have two daughters, Lori and Jodi. Peg loved her family and took pride in being a stay at home mother and wife. She enjoyed volunteering at the girls’ schools and their many activities. She was involved in Urbandale Women’s Club, Compass Club, Welcome Wagon and many other volunteer opportunities.

Peg and Don enjoyed going out to eat and trying different restaurants, playing cards, gambling in Iowa or Las Vegas and spending time with friends and family.

When her girls were in high school, Peg began working for the University of Michigan as a research surveyor and then University of Chicago-NORC as a field manager. She enjoyed meeting and talking to many different people.

Peg is preceded in death by her grandparents, DL and Hildred Thomas, her mother and step-father, Deloris and Ray Scott, her brother, David Christensen, grandson, Matthew Sandblom and other aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Don, daughters Lori (Steve) Anderson, Jodi (Skip) Rushing, grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Sandblom, Michael Sandblom, Nicholas Adams, Matthew and Jonathan Anderson, Sara, Jacob, Lucas and Ben Rushing, great grandson’s, Brian and Gavin Sandblom and extended family.

Memorials contributions to the family to be designated at a later date.
