John Henry Hartman

John Henry Hartman died at his home at Creston Friday, April 13, 1934. He had been in ill health for some time. Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the Baptist Church of Creston; burial at the Spaulding cemetery.

Mr. Hartman was born March 12, 1875 at Winterset, where he grew to manhood. He united with the Baptist chuch when a young man.

He was married to Miss Myrtle Traster of Winterset January 15, 1896 who died April 13, 1917. To this union were born six children, Ralph dying in infancy, Frank, Mrs. Gladys Birchtold, Mrs. Mable Johnson, Lawrence and one daughter at home, Nellie May, all of Creston survive. He leaves besides his children, seven grandchildren and five brothers and one sister, James T., Win and Walter of Creston; George N. of Elliston and Frank Hartman and Mrs. Walter Gray of Winterset.
