Page 5, Column 2Woodrow Wilson Miner Jr., 73, died at his home in Earlham.
Burial will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the American Legion Post #158 in Earlham or the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
Woody was born on Aug. 8, 1946, to Woodrow Miner Sr. and Ethel Hendricks. After high school, he served his country from 1965 to 1968 in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Woody married Vicki Satrom on July 8, 1969. They have one son and two grandchildren. Woody graduated from Simpson College at the age of 40 in 1984. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marsha; and brother, Reggie.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki, of 50 years; son, Doug (Andrea) of Earlham; grandson, Derek of Ankeny; granddaughter, Katelyn of Cedar Falls; brother, Dennis (Sherri) and sister, Krisha Porter of Winterset; and other relatives and friends.
