Vada started Long Branch Crafts in Stuart where she made and taught the art of wax candles and ceramics. She participated in many of the major craft shows around Central Iowa. This eventually led to the naming of Wax Trail Drive in Stuart. For many years she led and organized the Stuart Farmer’s Market. She volunteered for various community activities and even worked at the Stuart Herald newspaper. Vada enjoyed reading and because of her strong faith, her favorite book was the Bible.

Survivors include Vada’s husband, Bob of Stuart; five children, Steve (Diane) Richardson, Dave Richardson, Mike (Patty) Richardson, Deb Sydnor (Larry Cooper) and John (Kathy) Garrett; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Russ (Marge) Lowe and Don (Marcia) Douglas; and many nieces and nephews.
