Jerry Leroy Beech, 86, of Truro, IA. entered his eternal home on December 6th, 2022 at the Iowa Jewish Senior Life Center.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the New Virginia United Methodist Church on Sunday December 11th from 1:00-3:00 pm.

Jerry was born in Des Moines, IA. on February 2, 1936, to Gerald and Marie (Carpe) Beech. He was a graduate of Des Moines Technical High School. He married the love of his life Barbara Jean Cook, on March 26, 1960. As a young man, Jerry constructed stage sets for WHO TV and later became a cameraman. He then worked for Allied Construction and was also a farrier (horseshoer) for a large clientele in central Iowa. Later in his career, Jerry worked and traveled for Lerner stores and Sears Corporation as a construction superintendent, managing the building of many retail stores around the country.

Jerry had a great love of horses, since childhood. He was a cowboy through and through and participated in rodeo for many years. He also had a great love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and enjoying nature. Jerry was an extremely talented woodworker and enjoyed building beautiful pieces of furniture for his friends and family as well as creating amazing wood carvings. He donated many wooden bowls to his church auction during the holidays. He also built and refurbished horse buggies and sleighs and loved giving rides!

Jerry adored his family. He attended many sports, school events, dance recitals and concerts and was his children and grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. Rides with Grandpa on the 4-wheeler were always a special event!

Jerry is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Merrick (Mike) and Jerri Lynn Sinclair, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his infant twin sons Craig and Gregory Beech, parents, Gerald and Marie Beech, brothers Dennis and Robert Beech and his wife Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Virginia United Methodist Church.
