Osceola, IowaBilly Ray Patton, son of Oscar Pierce Patton and Anna Mildred Davis Patton was born May 15, 1940 in Dexter, New Mexico and passed from this life Friday, October 21, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice at 82 years of age.
Billy began his education in New Mexico and later moved to Iowa where he completed his education graduating from Truro High School in 1960. Billy also served his country with the United States Navy and had qualified to be a fighter pilot.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Maxine McMichael on July 29, 1962 in Truro, Iowa and they were the parents of a daughter, Julie. He later married Cindy Stephenson and they were married for nearly eighteen years.
Over the years, Billy has lived in New Mexico and Iowa where he was a supervisor at a meat packing plant in Des Moines, Texas and had just returned to Iowa in June of this year.
In his younger years, Billy enjoyed drawing and was actually a talented artist. In his retirement, Billy enjoyed reading, movies and playing pool. He also enjoyed going to thrift stores and antiquing. Billy especially loved his family and his beloved dog, Lady.
Those relatives who preceded Billy in death were his father, Oscar Pierce Patton, mother, Anna Mildred Patton, brother, Jimmy Patton, sister, Norma Faye Haines, sister-in-law, Jeanie Patton, sister-in-law, Sissy Patton and brother-in-law, Lyle Haines.
Billy leaves to cherish his memory; daughter, Julie (Jared) Morris of Truro, IA, daughter, Tiffany (Matthew) Alexander of Newton, IA, daughter, Melissa (Michael) Martinez of Orange Park, FL, son, Loren (Kimberly) Stephenson of Grimes, IA, son, Brandon Stephenson of Newton, IA; grandchildren, Jordan Edejer, Taylor Baber, Caleb Martinez, Cameron Martinez and Abby Martinez. Also surviving are his brother, Jerry Patton of Roswell, NM, brother, Bobby (Susan) Patton of Madill, OK, sister, Lynda (Jim) Robinson of Roswell, NM; his beloved dog, Lady as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Services will be held at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, Wednesday October 26, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Brian McCracken officiating.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Kale Funeral Home in Truro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Clarke County Animal Shelter.
