George Clayton Dies of Stroke

George B. Clayton, 73, of 753 Eighteenth st, died of a stroke Friday at his home following a week's illness. Mr. Clayton, born in Van Meter, was a feed salesman who for the last 14 years was employed by the Pioneer Laboratories, Inc. He lived in Van Meter, where he attended public schools, and in Earlham before moving to Des Moines about 23 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Letha Clayton; four sons, Henry W. and Robert H, both of Des Moines, Edward of Indianola, and Roger of Mitchell, S. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Ted Burnett of Rockport, N. Y, and Mrs. George Haefner of Rochester, N. Y.; three brothers, Roy and Ben, both of Van Meter, and John, of Dexter; one sister, Mrs. Guy Pitzer of Van Meter; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3:30 p. m. Sunday at the Fisher funeral home in Van Meter, with burial in the Clayton cemetery at Van Meter.
