Russell ”Russ” Eugene Jones, 44, died from a heart attack March 11, 1998 at his residence in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Funeral services were held March 16 at Bear Creek Friends Church, Earlham, with Pastors Sharm Eaton and Keith Smith officiating. Burial was at Bear Creek Cemetery in rural Earlham.

Russell Jones was born June 1, 1953, in Perry, Iowa, to Howard and Delores Smith Jones of Earlham. He grew up in Earlham, graduating from Earlham High School in 1972. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving for four years. In 1975, Russell married Floriece Lamb of Oklahoma City, Okla. He was employed by CMI Corp. He also was a member of the Bear Creek Friends Church.

He is survived by his parents; two sons, Kurt and Kris; a sister, Rosemary Ralston (husband) Bill of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Roger L. Jones (wife Patty) of Des Moines; six nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends.
