Christina Scott, 56, of the Fairplay community, Kentucky died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 8:42 A.M. at her home after an illness.

She was born January 9, 1957, in Osceola, Iowa.  She was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired secretary, working for G & G Tractors for 23 years, and, most recently, at Billy Rice Auto Sales.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Calvin McVay.  

Survivors Include:
Her Mother – Ethel Fisher McVay of Peru, Iowa
One Daughter – Shannon (Bronson) Gadberry of Columbia
One Stepson – Doug Scott of Columbia
Two Brothers – Donald McVay of Iowa & David McVay of Columbia
One Sister – Diana Boyd of Iowa
One Grandchild – Cody Gadberry
Three Step-Grandchildren – Anthony Alley, Jonathan & Corey Scott

Funeral Service – Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Bob McCann officiating.

Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation after 12 Noon, Friday.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Transcriber’s note: Christina McVay Scott government marker is attached to the back of her parents gravestone in the Moon cemetery. It is unknown if her cremains are there. Date of death differs: Memorial marker lists 2014 in error since newspaper and Social Security Death Index list 2013.
