PERU NEWS

Helen Loughren, a little girl of ten years, whose parents live south of town, while playing “whip crack” at school the other day was thrown with such force that one of her legs was badly injured. Blood poison set in, and the little girl died Tuesday. Funeral was held Wednesday and body was sent to Des Moines for interment.

The Daily Register and Leader says: The funeral service of little Helen Loughran, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Loughran, former residents of this city, were held from McBride undertaking rooms yesterday morning at 10:30 o’clock. Interment was made at Woodland cemetery.

The girl died at the home of her parents near East Peru Tuesday night and the remains were brought to Des Moines Wednesday for interment.
