Rite Is Held for Mrs. McLeod

Services for Myrtle Wright McLeod, 91, who had lived in Modesto and Cere since 1927, and died Sunday in a local convalescent home after a long illness, wee held today in the Carmody Memorial Chapel.

Mrs. McLeod, a native of Iowa, moved to Utica, Mont., in 1898 and graduated from Montana State Normal College. She had taught school in Utica and Lewistown, Mont., where she later was principal of two schools.

She married Ben McLeod in 1927 and moved to Ceres, where he was a fruit rancher. She had been a member of the Methodist Church in Ceres, the order of the Eastern Star and the Parent-Teachers Association.

In 1944, they sold the ranch and bought a home in Modesto, where they lived until McLeod's death several years ago.

She is survived by three step-children, Margaret Taylor of Ceres, Jean Ball of San Jose and Patricia Davidson of Orange; a brother, Harvey Wright of Idaho; six step-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.
