MACON — Edna R Frost Harris, 83, Macon, died May 5, 1991 at a hospital here. She was born in Winterset, Iowa and lived in Kirksville, Mo. before moving to Macon 30 years ago.

Mrs. Harris worked at hospitals in Moberly, Mo. and then in Columbia before she retired. She was a nurse for the Macon School District and director of nursing for the Samaritan Memorial Hospital, Macon, in the mid-1950s and then was director of nursing for a hospital in Marysville, Kan. Earlier she was a private duty nurse in the Kirksville area and a nurse for the Kirksville School District in the 1940s and the early 1950s. She graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery.

She was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Help One Another Club in Ten Mile, Mo.

Survivors include a son James Michael Frost, Hiawatha, Kan.; a daughter Beverly Westvold, Prairie Village; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 pm Tuesday at the Carney Chapel, Macon; burial in Maple Hills Cemetery, Kirksville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Red Cross.
