Winterset, IowaTravis Carter, 36, of De Soto, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Travis was born on October 24, 1985 to Gregory and Connie (Nichols) Carter in Winterset, Iowa. He attended Earlham Schools before taking classes to try and become a certified mechanic. Unfortunately, his health prohibited him from continuing his education and was unable to finish his schooling.
In his free time, Travis enjoyed listening to rap music, playing video games and working on cars. He had a great sense of humor and liked to joke around with others. Family was one of the most important aspects in Travis’ life, especially his son, Skyler. He loved to take him on many adventures, some that included go carts. In addition to spending time with his son, he enjoyed hanging out with his niece and nephews.
Travis is survived by his son, Skyler; mother, Connie Carter; sister, Sarah (Chad) Black; nephews, Dylan, Dustin and Dalton; and niece, Delainey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Greg; and grandparents, Richard Carter, Mary Johnson and Don and Lois Nichols.
