June 2022Errol Heckman, 82, of Peru, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 at his home.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Winterset Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Stuart. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
Errol Ralph Heckman was born in Dexter, Iowa on November 11, 1939, the son of Gerald and Leona (Shaefer) Heckman. He graduated from Earlham High School in 1957. He married Elaine King in 1959, and with this union they had two children. They lived around Dexter until 2003 when they moved to Peru. Elaine passed away in 2008. In 2009, Errol married Norma Williams.
Errol worked for John Deere Des Moines Works for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed farming and going to auctions and farm sales. He also enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Dwayne (Carla) Heckman of Dexter and Lorre (Kenney) Jones of Guthrie Center; stepchildren, Karma (Dan) Conway of Des Moines, Greg Williams of Virginia, and Kyle Williams of Arizona; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Heckman of Osceola; sisters, Dorothy Kopaska of Dexter and Vera Shelley of Menlo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Leona Heckman; wife, Elaine Heckman, and stepson, Gene Williams.
