Services for Harry LaVerne Aller, Sr., 56, of rural Lacona, who died Thursday of cancer at Mercy Hospital, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Elm Grove Cemetery.
A native of St. Charles, Mr. Aller lived in Des Moines for 43 years before moving to Lacona eight months ago. He was a warehouseman for Merchants Transfer and Storage Co., and was steward for Local 147 of the Teamsters' Union.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. Sandra Wessel of Des Moines; six sons, Larry, James and Harry, Jr., all of Des Moines, George of Indianola, Garry of Riverside, Calif., and Danny of Lacona; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Florea of Missouri, Mrs. Catherine Gear and Mrs. Mildred Romore, both of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mary Felp of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Frank of Kentucky, and Ernest and Charles, both of Des Moines, and 13 grandchildren.
