Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Donna Brown of Aurora, Ill., at the Macksburg United Methodist Church. Burial was at Moon Cemetery.

Donna Brown-King, 78, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of the Creston area, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Ill. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Macksburg. Burial will be at the Moon Cemetery, south of Macksburg. Family will receive friends from 9 am until the 10 am Saturday service at the Macksburg Church. Memorials are to be established in her name. Donna June Brown was born October 3, 1933, northwest of Lorimor to Elva Wheeler and Iva Lea (Kirby) Wheeler. She lived in Madison County most of her childhood. She graduated from Macksburg High School in 1952. On May 31, 1952, Donna was united in marriage to Raymond Brown in Macksburg. She resided most of her life in Union and Madison Counties. She was a PBX operator for the Creston Hospital and a cook for several restaurants and nursing home in Union, Madison and Adair Counties. She was well known for her cooking and sewing and a master at crocheting. Donna was also a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, George King of Aurora, Ill.; a daughter, Lana (husband David) Pressley of Monroe, N.C.; two sons, Terry (wife Charlotte) Brown of Creston; and Dennis Brown of Lorimor; seven grandchildren, Laci and Lonny Brown, Wade Shinkle, Nicole Swindler (husband Clay), Donna and Jeff Brown, all of Creston and Mylissa Schooling of Shenandoah; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Brown on April 17, 1991 and her daughter Tammy Brown.
