Obituaries - Jack McKibban

Jack McKibban, 61, died Wednesday at Queen of the Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. McKibban was born in Winterset, Iowa on Nov. 22, 1921. He moved to California as a boy and was raised in Vallejo where he attended school. In high school he was known for his abilities in football and basketball.

After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. After his discharge, he attended San Francisco State College and the University of San Francisco Law School. He married his wife, Marguerite, in 1948.

He first practiced law in Vallejo, moved to Napa in 1963, and he continued to practice law in Vallejo and also practiced in Napa. He discontinued his Vallejo practice in the early 1970s.

He was a past toastmaster; a member of the Napa County Bar Association ; the California State Bar Association; Yount Lodge 12 F. & A.M. of Napa and the Trial Lawyers Association of Napa.

Mr. McKibban is survived by his wife, Marguerite of Napa; one brother, James of Barstow; one sister, JoAnn Maxwell of Napa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Richard Pierce Funeral Service. Friends may call until 8 p.m. Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday. Private inurnment will be at Golden Gate National Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
