Page 1, Column 8Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith were in Ankeny the first three days of last week where they were summoned by the death of the latter’s mother, Mrs. Dora Peterson. Mrs. Peterson, who was 64 years of age had lived in or near Ankeny for the past 27 years.
She was the former Theodora Karen Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Olson and was born in Gibson City, Ill., and there she was married to Carl O. Peterson in 1905.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church in Des Moines, and her funeral services were held there Wednesday, April 14.
Mrs. Peterson is survived by her husband, three daughters, Edna and Laura Peterson at home, and Mrs. Virgil Smith of Winterset. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Albert W. Peterson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Hilma Bickel of Farnhamville.
