Patricia Jeanne Tracy was born Patricia Schirm on October 18, 1944 to Lloyd Schirm and Cleta (Fay) Nichols Schirm in Peru, Iowa. She was proud to be raised on the family farm and to attend school in Peru and Winterset, Iowa.

On October 22, 1960, she married the love of her life, George Olyn Tracy, and they shared 61 beautiful years together. George and Pat, or Patty to many, settled in Ankeny, Iowa, and raised their 2 children, Kevin and Renee.

Pat and George came to know the Lord early in their marriage. Pat spent her life pouring out the love of Jesus upon anyone who knew her through meals or baked goods for a new family or for the sick, through babysitting to give a young mother a break, or through visits to the hospitalized or homebound. Whatever the need, Pat was there. She shared her talents by decorating her church and even the homes of anyone who asked. Pat warmly opened her home to any and all, sharing her gift of hospitality. And she was a faithful and true friend to those lucky enough to be counted as such.

Pat loved all children, especially babies. She enjoyed attending the Iowa State Fair and the Covered Bridge Festival, every year. Pat loved finding a good bargain and telling about it. She loved baking and entertaining, and she loved the holidays.

But there was nothing on this earth that Pat loved more than her family. She was proud to be George’s wife. Her children and grandchildren brought her the greatest joy. Their lives are deeply blessed through Pat’s great love and example of a life well-lived.

Pat is survived by her husband, George; her children, Kevin (Janet) Tracy and Renee (Don) Worcester; 7 grandchildren, Sheena (Jacob) Wiedmann, Dillon (Cassandra) Tracy, Dominic Tracy, Keaton Wynn, Jacob Worcester, Emma Worcester, and Abigail Worcester; her sisters, Connie Patton and Shelly Brittian-Collins; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Tracy and Janet K. Tracy; brother-in-law, Richard Bass; and many “favorite” nieces and nephews, along with countless friends, notably, Diana Ober, her life-long Sister in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Schirm and Cleta (Fay) Brittian; her sister, Fonda Bass; brother, Rick Schirm; and brother-in-law, Edward Tracy.
