Mr. and Mrs. Lee Jamison called on Mrs. Robert Stephenson of Des Moines who is a patient in Iowa Methodist Hospital and in poor condition. Mrs. Stephenson is the former Lucille Sheets and lived for many years south of Van Meter. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sheets and her twin sister is Mrs. Louise Swift of Des Moines.

Mr. and Mrs. William Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson and family of Van Meter attended the funeral of Mrs. Lucille Stephenson of Des Moines at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Westover Funeral Home at Des Moines. Mrs. Stephenson was a cousin of Mrs. Rogers and Mrs. Johnson. Mr. Rogers and Mr. Johnson were casket bearers.

Transcriber’s note: Burial was in the Union Chapel cemetery in Jefferson township, Madison county, Iowa.
