Linda S. Larimer, 40, 2355 Twin Bluff Road, died Wednesday at her home of complication due to a brain tumor. She was born August 24, 1949, in Peru, Iowa, the daughter of Forrest and Janice Austin. She graduated in 1967 from East Union High School, Afton, Iowa. She married Dennis Larimer Feb. 17, 1968, in Afton and they moved around the country while he served in the U.S. Navy. They moved in 1973 to Red Wing (Minnesota) and she was a secretary at Bergwall Arena for 1 1/2 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. John’s Hospital Auxiliary, and the YMCA.

She is survived by her husband, two sons – Mark and Doug – both of Red Wing; her parents of Afton; five sisters Mrs. Gary (Kathryn) Siddens and Mrs. Stephen (Mary) Eckels, both of Afton, Mrs. Chuck (Beth) Gray of St. Charles, Iowa, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Roberts of Ozark, Mo., and Mrs. Lanny (Nancy) Hofmeister of Creston, Iowa; three brothers, F. Marion, Gary (Alice), and Alan (Kathy) Austin, all of Afton; nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Hugh Stephenson officiating and the Rev. Rick Lund assisting. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home and noon until service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to the Goodhue and Wabasha Public Health Service, American Legion Brain Science Foundation, and Red Wing Hospice.
