C. W. Kirk, Sr., aged 72, died Sunday at the home of his son, C. W. Kirk, Jr. of 1112 Tenth street, following a stroke of paralysis.
He formerly was a member of the police department.
The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, at the residence.
________________________Transcriber's note: Per his father's obituary, the Kirk family came to Madison County in 1851. Charles' last Madison County record was his marriage to Jenny Coy in 1873. Civil War records show that he enlisted from Winterset in 1862 in Company H, 23rd Iowa Infantry.
