The Sibley Tribune gives the particulars of the suicide of Aaron Bailey, formerly of Winterset, which we briefly mentioned last week. It seems that he hung himself with a piece of clothesline, in his barn where he had gone to feed the chickens, his wife being absent at the time.

He had suffered for fifteen years with epileptic fits, and it is supposed that he was not in his right mind; indeed the coroner’s jury found that he “came to his death by hanging while temporarily deranged.”

He was 67 years of age, and leaves a wife and seven grown children.

The Sad Death of Aaron Bailey

Mr. Bailey was 67 years old on the 23d of October. he was married to his surviving wife in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, on July 10, 1850. They moved from there to Benton County, Iowa, in 1852, where they resided on a farm 'till 1875. His health failing him, they sold their place and moved to Winterset, this state. In 1884 they moved to Sibley where they have resided ever since.

He leaves a family of seven grown children - five boys and two girls, together with the almost heartbroken wife and mother, deeply mourn the sudden death of an always indulgent husband and father.

The funeral will take place tomorrow at the family residence at 10 o'clock, A. M.
