Margaret Bryerly Folwell died on December 27, 1852. She was born on November 22, 1814 and was a native of Westmoreland county, PA.

She married Samuel Folwell on August 22, 1832. Seven children were born to this union, three sons, Wm. B., James D., and John T. and four daughters Rebecca E., Elizabeth, Margaret J., and Rachel.

In 1850, the family came to Iowa and located in Jefferson township.
