Mrs. Dale Silverthorn of Monroe Township Dies

Mrs. Dorothy Joyce Silverthorn, a young Monroe township woman died last Friday at the age of 27 years. Mrs. Silverthorn was the former Dorothy Joyce Slaughter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Slaughter and was born on August 30, 1913. On July 2, 1933, she was married to Dale B. Silverthorn of Winterset.

She was a member of the Christian church at Lorimor, and of the Royal Neighbor lodge there. She was also president of the Friendly Circle club of Monroe township.

She is survived by her husband, her mother, Mrs. Lena Slaughter, of Lorimor; two brothers, Wesley of Algona and Elmer Slaughter of Churchville; and two sisters, Mrs. Addie Wanger of Greenfield, and Mrs. Irene Strain of Lorimor.

Funeral services were held from the Christian church in Lorimor on Sunday, conducted by the Rev. M. D. Summerbell. Burial was made in the Lorimor cemetery.
