Sarah Fern Anderson, a former Madison county resident, died July 31 at Perry Hospital. She was 85 years old.
Born in Warren county on May 4, 1896, she was the daughter of Greer and Mae Potter Mahan. She lived in Warren, Polk and Madison counties before moving to Woodward in 1939.
In 1933 she married Walter Anderson. Mr. Anderson died in 1946.
Mrs. Anderson worked at the Woodward Hospital from 1955-1958.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Survivors include three nieces, Helen Jesse of Des Moines, and Eldora Parker and Doris Olson of Winterset; and two nephews, Edgar Mahan of Prole and John Mahan of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Aug. 3 at Murdock Timeon Funeral Home in Woodward, Rev. Jimmy Powers officiating.
Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
