Mrs. Moore, an aged colored woman, the mother of Charley Moore, dropped dead on Wednesday of last week, and was buried the next day. She is said to have been almost one hundred years old.

Transcriber’s note: First and maiden names taken from son’s Madison County marriage record. Burial is recorded in the Winterset Cemetery "Ledger book, 1878-1937" and notes “She was born a slave, buried in potters field in southeast end.”
