EMMETT H. HART DIED WEDNESDAY

Emmett H. Hart, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Montgomery, Ala., where he had been living with a daughter, Mrs. Jesse Perkins.

Mr. Hart was born in Madison county April 13, 1889, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hart. His active life was spent in farming. He had been retired in recent years, and for the last two years had been living with his children.

He was married July 21, 1920 at Winterset, to Reba M. Ross. Her death occurred in 1961.

He served in the U.S. armed forces during WWI, and was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving are five children, Forrest Hart of Des Moines, Harold Hart of San Anselmo, Calif., Mrs. Richard Henderson of Wauwatosa, Wisc., Mrs. James Peters of Waterloo, and Mrs. Perkins of Montgomery. He also leaves 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, H. E. Hart of Des Moines and Oscar Hart of Detroit, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Meilke of St. Charles and Mrs. Bertha Seideland and Ann Hart of Indianola.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church of Winterset. Burial was made in Union Chapel cemetery.
