Luellamae Bailey

Luellamae Bailey, 89, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Iles Westover Chapel. Visitation will be 4-6pm, Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery.

Luellamae was born June 30, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa to George and Mary (Dunlap) McLucas. She graduated from Winterset High School and on August 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Marvin W. Bailey. They made their home in Des Moines, where they raised their two sons, Larry and Tim. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with her family. Luellamae especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons: Larry (Lisa) Bailey of Des Moines, and Tim (Pat) Bailey of Des Moines; seven grandchildren: Michael (Lori) Bailey, Michelle (Stephen) Hill, Alayna (Pete) Westerkamp, Andrea (Shawn Bobbitt) Bailey, David Bailey, and Katelyn Bailey; great grandchildren: Emily, Jane, Wyatt, Morgan, Rowyn, Julia, Evelyn and Hollie. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; her brother, Warner and grandson, Austin Bailey.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family, which will be directed to MercyOne Hospice and Valley View Village.
