Johnny James Porter

Johnny James Porter, age 68 of Waukee, Iowa passed away May 8, 2021 of cancer at MercyOne Hospice House in Johnston. He was the son of Johnny Giles Porter and Grace Marie (Decker) Porter.

Johnny graduated with the class of 1970 at Lincoln High School in Des Moines. He also attended Peru School and Winterset Schools. Before retirement, he worked for Lortex, Inc. of Des Moines for several years and other places in Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, Johnny Giles Porter; Grandparents, John Thomas Porter and Silvia Jane porter and Grandparents Elmer Decker and Martha Grace Decker. He is survived by his mother, Grace Marie (Decker) Porter of Osceola; children, Ann Marie Porter of West Des Moines and Kristopher James Porter of Ankeny; sister Judy Marie (Cleveland) Knipfel of Winterset; and grandson Alexander James Vick of West Des Moines; and many other relatives and friends.
