Claude Goff, known as “Kareless Kennedy,” who made the “slide for life” from the courthouse at the homecoming last year, died Friday noon at the Lister hospital in Omaha. Goff was thrown from the wire on which he was making a slide from the roof of the Fontenelle hotel to that of the Empress theater and had his neck broken. An emergency operation was performed Wednesday in hope of saving his life but it was in vain. Goff ws 28 years old.
He was married last fall to Vera Allen, daughter of Melvin Allen and made his home here with them last winter.
