Osceola, IowaTerry Kay Phillips, son of Richard Phillips and Alice (Sankey) Phillips was born February 3, 1946 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Norwalk Nursing & Rehab Center at 75 years of age.
Terry received his education in Truro, Iowa graduating from Interstate 35 High School in 1965.
He was united in marriage to Nancy Diane (Skog) Phillips on July 6, 1968 at Albert City, Iowa and three children, Lori, Jodi and Ryan blessed this union.
Terry was a kind and caring man who was passionate about farming, and a man who fiercely loved his family more than life itself. He loved his family dearly and especially loved spending time with his grandkids. Visiting was his all-time favorite hobby - he was a man that always had time to visit (whether he really did or not!). He was present in every moment he was with you, and he gave his full attention without effort. He didn’t waste a minute of his life being unhappy, and he found joy in every single day no matter the circumstances.
Terry worked as a custodian for Interstate-35 Schools for many years. To those who worked with him at school, the memories that he made with you are priceless, and you were undoubtedly a second family to him. He was also very passionate about and loved all the kids at school as his own and would do anything to help them out.
As previously mentioned, his passion for farming was evident. He loved the land and especially working with his cattle. He was pretty fond of a cow named Suzie.
Those relatives who preceded Terry in death were his parents, Richard and Alice Phillips; grandparents, Elmer and Catherine Phillips and Alvera and Myrtle Sankey.
Terry leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Nancy Phillips of Truro, IA; daughter, Lori (David) Henrichs of Lenox, IA; daughter, Jodi (Clay) Andrew of Osceola, IA; son, Ryan (Rachel) Phillips of Truro, IA; grandchildren, Kara Henrichs, Brooke Henrichs, and Mallory Henrichs, Maeci Andrew, Braden Andrew, Sadie Schneiders, Hannah Schneiders, Allyce Phillips and Emma Phillips; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Peyton and Travarious; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Phillips and Larry Phillips; sister-in-law, Susan (Jerry) Steele; brothers-in-law, Dale (Diane) Skog, Bob (Marty) Skog, Dave (Karen) Skog as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
