April 2021Fred Junior Sirdoreus, 91, returned to his heavenly father on April 8, 2021 with his loving family at his side. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his lifelong journey and ultimately gave him peace.
Fred was born to the late Fred and Nora (Westerman) Sirdoreus on January 6, 1930 in Dexter, Iowa. He was raised to have a strong work ethic and began working at an early age and worked such jobs as farming, auto mechanic, truck driver and school janitor. Continuing that work ethic his last job is being a guardian angel over his family.
Fred took a break from working and enlisted in the Army (1952-1954) to serve the country that he loved.
Fred was a devoted man of faith and God and lived his life based upon that devotion. His family was very important to him and he was the glue that bound us together. Fred was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and loved watching the games with his son Martin and grandson Trevor.
Fred was a kind, loving and soft-spoken man with a great sense of humor. He was loved by everyone who met him. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and the lives of those he touched. We all find comfort knowing that he is at home and in peace with his heavenly father and those who wait for him on the other side.
Left to carry on Fred's legacy and love are his four children, Blainey (Mark) Ray of Post Falls, ID; Julie Whittle of West Des Moines, IA; Shelly (TR) Mead of Marshalltown, IA; Martin (Maria) Sirdoreus of Grimes, IA. The love of his life Velda Clark of Olathe, KS. And John (Carrie) Clark of Olathe, KS. From his children he was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Fred will be warmly welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, 12 brothers and sisters and 3 grandsons.
Fred will be cremated and a Celebration of His Life will be held at the VFW Hall in Winterset, IA on May, 23, 2021.
